Sherwood Faith in Action/Volunteer Caregivers: Mark Federspiel
This is wonderful opportunity for volunteers to come together for a morning and help their senior neighbors with window washing, yard work or cleaning out gutters. These are things that as our senior neighbors age they have a hard time doing for themselves. Faith in Action Sherwood collects the names of seniors and volunteers willing to help. I have been coordinating these events for the last 5 years and feel so grateful for the opportunity to bring such generous volunteers together with seniors in need of a helping hand.
We meet for a hearty breakfast at 8 AM at the Sherwood Senior Center. All the team assignments will have already been assembled and will be ready for pick up at that time. The teams move out to the respective job assignments. All work is completed by noon. Good Samaritans have the rest of the day to enjoy knowing that they have made a huge difference in the lives of a few seniors.
