Chamber Ambassadors

The Ambassador Program is a key part of the Sherwood Area Chamber of Commerce. Our Ambassadors meet monthly and as volunteers for the Chamber’s many events, programs and ribbon cutting activities. They are the first point of contact as representatives for “member value” and connectivity with colleagues and consumers.

Organizations are welcome to designate an individual to serve as a Chamber Ambassador after one (1) year of membership. Simply contact us at 503-625-7800 for more information. Ambassadors are not compensated nor are they asked to solicit funding of any kind. To become a Chamber Ambassador, please review and complete the “Ambassador Pledge”.

Valued Chamber Ambassadors, and Future Ambassadors–

Thank you so much for your dedicated service to our Chamber and interest in the Ambassador Program.

If you’ve been an Ambassador in the past you’ve seen the impact that is possible when we — as Chamber staff and volunteers — rally around the business community to celebrate their wins and help them cultivate new, meaningful relationships. If you’re new to this whole “Ambassador” idea, we’re eager to show you how you can play a part in strengthening your own community connections as you strengthen others’.

So… what is a Chamber Ambassador?

Our Ambassadors — alongside other Chamber members and partners — power what we do as a Chamber in three primary ways: 1) Ambassadors provide support to new or existing members and partners by attending regular ribbon cutting events; 2) volunteering to help at Chamber events, as needed, and; 3) serving as dedicated “connectors,” telling the story of what the Chamber is and does with their circles of influence.

The Sherwood Chamber of Commerce, like many of us, had to make some changes due to the COVID Pandemic. One change was to put our Chamber Ambassador program on hold for the health and safety of our members and volunteers. Now it’s time to bring this program back to life. We are making some changes this year to ensure the Chamber Ambassador program will thrive, and that new and existing Chamber members have optimal support from our Ambassadors.

To this end, we’re inviting Ambassadors to a more formal commitment. Here’s what it will mean to be a Chamber Ambassador:

YEAR-LONG COMMITMENT: Being an Ambassador is a big responsibility, and we appreciate the hours you give to our mission; starting in 2024, we ask you to commit to one (1) year of service at a time, allowing you to opt in and opt out according to your needs and availability from year to year. In 2023, we ask for your commitment for the remainder of the year.
REPRESENTATION: In order to expand the Chamber Ambassador program to new organizations and representatives, we limit the number of Ambassadors from a single organization to one (1) per calendar year.
RIBBON CUTTINGS: Every Chamber Ambassador will be required to attend two (2) Chamber ribbon cuttings per year as part of their annual commitment.
SOCIAL MEDIA: Every Chamber Ambassador will be required to post about the Chamber two (2) times per month to their personal social media channels — these can be your own original posts (e.g. photos of events and programs) or re-shared posts from Chamber channels.
MONTHLY MEETINGS: Every Chamber Ambassador is required to attend eight (8) regular meetings per year. Regular meetings are held every first Wednesday of the month January through October (10 total).
EVENT DISCOUNTS: Chamber Ambassadors can enjoy 10% off the registration cost of any paid Chamber events and programs through their year of service. If an Ambassador is requested to and accepts serving as a volunteer at a paid Chamber event, free admission will be a perk!
ANNUAL APPRECIATION EVENT: Starting in 2024, the Chamber Ambassadors will be reconglized at the annual “Spotlight on Sherwood” Dinner.

SHERWOOD AMBASSADOR VOLUNTEER PROGRAM

Ambassadors are volunteer representatives of the chamber responsible for contacting members and networking, to encourge investment and engagement in The Chamber. Ambassadors help the chamber carry out our missions each and every day. They are an extention of our voice, and help answer member questions, assisting them in gaining maximum value from their membership. Being an ambassador, increases the visibility and networking opportunities for yourself and your company. You will gain knowledge of chamber programs and offerings and be part of a great group of volunteers, and have fun too!!
